The Tees loops
The river bends sharply around the northern edge of town. Rendered in solid tone, it gives the poster a strong curved spine that everything else on the sheet lines up against.

Thornaby-on-Tees Map Poster & Print
Thornaby-on-Tees sits on the south bank of the River Tees, directly across the water from Stockton. On a map the river decides almost everything. It swings in wide loops past the town, and the older streets press up against it, while newer estates spread south and east toward the main roads that carry traffic across Teesside.
The town grew quickly in the nineteenth century, when ironworks and wharves lined the riverbank. That industrial age left a close grain of terraced streets near the old centre. Further out, the pattern changes. Much of the housing to the south was built on the site of the former RAF Thornaby airfield, and the curving closes there still hint at the open ground the runways once covered.
A Thornaby-on-Tees map poster shows how a working river town became a residential one. Put the loops of the Tees, the rail line and the ring of trunk roads together and you get a crowded, readable composition. The black lines of the streets thin out toward the river, then pick up again on the Stockton side, as if the two towns were meant to be read together.

Infinity Bridge
The Infinity Bridge is a footbridge linking Stockton's North Shore with the Teesdale side of Thornaby. On the map it shows up as a fine thread stitched across the water.
Former airfield estates
South of the centre, housing built on the old RAF Thornaby site replaces the tight terraces with looping roads and cul-de-sacs, a clear change of texture on the sheet.

අර්ථයක් ඇති සිතියමක්
People who grew up on Teesside often want something that shows the river the way it really runs, and not the way a road sign describes it. A Thornaby map puts home, the bridges and the Stockton skyline side on one sheet, which suits a hallway or a first flat far from the North East.
You can title the poster with the town's name, a family surname or a date that matters, and set the coordinates line to a particular street. Choose from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Blueprint works especially well for a place with an engineering past.
