Tongyangdao Map Poster & Print
Tongyangdao is a town in Inner Mongolia, on the open upland north of the Yellow River plain around Baotou. The surrounding land is broad and sparsely built, with farmland and grassland stretching toward low hills. On the map the town appears as a compact block of streets, clearly defined against the openness around it, with roads leaving in long straight lines.
Its layout is fairly regular, as is common in towns on the plateau where flat ground allows straight streets and rectangular blocks. Outside the town, the pattern gives way to fields and scattered settlements linked by rural roads. The scale of the landscape is part of the map's character: the town is small, and the space around it is large.
A Tongyangdao map poster makes the most of that contrast between a neat urban core and the wide land around it. It is a personal map, for people with family in the region or who have lived and worked on the Inner Mongolian plateau.

Straight rural roads
Roads leave town in long, direct lines across the plateau, drawing thin threads that connect it to farms and neighbouring settlements.
Open plateau
Farmland and grassland stretch around the town with little development, leaving generous empty space that frames the streets and gives the map breathing room.
