Valencia Map Poster & Print
Valencia lies in the province of Los Ríos, in the warm lowlands between the Andes and the Pacific coast. It is a relatively young canton, and the land around it is mostly farmed. From above the town is a compact grid of blocks, surrounded by farmland whose field boundaries and access tracks spread across the flat terrain in long, regular strokes.
The province is named for its rivers, and water shapes the wider map. Streams and drainage lines wind between the plantations, drawn more loosely than the straight roads that link Valencia to neighbouring towns such as Quevedo. The contrast between the right angles of the town and the meanders of the rivers is what gives the area its character on paper.
A Valencia map poster shows the town at the scale people actually live in it: the central blocks and plaza, the main road running through, and the transition from streets to farm tracks. Rendered in a single colour, the lowland pattern becomes clear and restful, a reminder of a specific corner of coastal Ecuador.

Winding lowland rivers
Rivers and streams curve slowly across the flat province, their soft meanders cutting across the straight lines of roads and field boundaries.
Plantation tracks
Beyond the town, farm access roads run in long parallel lines through the agricultural land, creating a quiet striped texture towards the edges of the map.
