The Dommel valley
The Dommel threads a narrow, winding line along the town, with meadows and wet ground either side that the street network carefully avoids.

Valkenswaard Map Poster & Print
Valkenswaard lies just south of Eindhoven in North Brabant, close to the Belgian border. On a map it appears as a fairly compact town with a central market area, residential neighbourhoods of curving streets, and a long main road running north toward the city.
Its surroundings are what set it apart. The small Dommel river winds along one side, and large areas of forest and heathland fill much of the space around the town. The town's name is tied to falconry: for centuries the surrounding heaths were known across Europe for catching and training falcons, and that history remains part of local identity.
A Valkenswaard map poster frames the built-up area against these open spaces, so the town reads as a clear island between river, woods and heath. Today the town is also known for international show jumping, another link between Valkenswaard and the animals and open land around it.
