Vĩnh Yên Map Poster & Print
Vĩnh Yên lies north-west of Hanoi, on the edge of the Red River delta where the plain begins to meet the hills. The town's most distinctive feature from above is Đầm Vạc, a large lake whose irregular shoreline reaches into the urban area. Streets and new districts have grown up around its edges.
For many years Vĩnh Yên was the capital of Vĩnh Phúc province, and it has grown quickly with the arrival of industrial parks and new residential areas. To the north, the Tam Đảo range rises above the plain, and the hill station of Tam Đảo is a popular escape from summer heat in the lowlands.
A Vĩnh Yên map poster balances water and streets: the pale, branching shape of the lake, the older centre beside it and newer neighbourhoods fanning out along the main roads. In black and white, the lake becomes the anchor of the whole composition.

Main road corridors
Major roads link the town with Hanoi and the surrounding provinces. They cross the urban area in long lines and guide the growth of new districts.
Towards Tam Đảo
North of the town, the land rises towards the Tam Đảo mountains. The shift from dense streets to open ground marks the northern edge of the design.
