Watchung ridges
Two parallel ridges run through the township. Streets climb and curve along their slopes, giving the map long, flowing lines that differ clearly from the grids of neighbouring towns.

West Orange Map Poster & Print
West Orange spreads across the First and Second Watchung Mountains in Essex County, New Jersey, a short distance west of Newark. From above, its streets follow the ridges. There is a tighter grid in the lower valley near the Oranges, then long, curving roads that climb the slopes and wind through wooded neighbourhoods. Interstate 280 cuts across the township in a broad arc.
Thomas Edison built his laboratory complex here in 1887, and for decades it was the centre of his work on the phonograph, motion pictures and batteries. His home, Glenmont, stands in Llewellyn Park, which was laid out in the 1850s as one of the first planned residential communities in the United States. Both are now part of Thomas Edison National Historical Park.
A West Orange map poster shows the contrast between built-up streets and large protected areas. South Mountain Reservation and Eagle Rock Reservation form broad open spaces, while the curving private lanes of Llewellyn Park stand out against the regular blocks nearby. Even in flat black and white, the ridges give the map a sense of depth.

Llewellyn Park
This is one of America's earliest planned suburbs, with curving drives laid out to follow the land rather than a grid. Its irregular pattern is easy to spot on the poster.
South Mountain Reservation
This large wooded county park covers much of the township's southern side. It creates a wide, calm area on the map, crossed only by a few roads and trails.

අර්ථයක් ඇති සිතියමක්
West Orange draws people who grew up on its hills, commuters who found space away from the city, and admirers of Edison who have visited his laboratory. A map of the township captures both its suburban streets and its wooded ridges in one image.
