Yoshioka Map Poster & Print
Yoshioka is the central area of Taiwa town in Miyagi Prefecture, north of Sendai. It grew up as a post station on the Ōshū Kaidō, the historic road that ran north from Edo through this part of Japan. On a map, that history still shows: the main street runs in a long line through the town, with older lots stretching back from it.
Around this spine, newer residential areas and roads have spread over the surrounding low hills and farmland. The town's location between Sendai and the north has made it a growing commuter community. A Yoshioka map poster brings together the long, linear old road and the more recent growth around it.
In black and white, the old post-town layout stands out as a clear axis through the middle of the frame. Curving roads, farmland and gentle slopes surround it. It is a quiet map of a town shaped by a road that travellers used for centuries.

Newer districts
Residential areas built more recently spread out around the old core. Their streets and blocks look noticeably different from the historic roadside layout.
Low hills and fields
Gentle hills and farmland surround the town. They leave open space around the edges of the map and a soft transition into the countryside.
