The town core
Dense blocks and short streets form a compact centre. It stands out clearly against the open land around it, and it is where the main roads of the area meet.

Yunyang Map Poster & Print
From above, Yunyang has a clear centre with fields on every side. The built-up area is small and dense. Its streets cross in a loose grid that thins out into village lanes and farm tracks. Farther out, the fine lines of irrigation channels and field edges take over the map, so the town looks like one solid mark in a large open landscape.
Yunyang lies in southwestern Henan, where the flat floor of the Nanyang Basin starts to rise toward the Funiu Mountains in the north. On a map you can see this in the pattern of lines. In the south the roads run straight and evenly spaced across the plain. In the north they begin to follow the land and bend around higher ground. Small streams run south through the fields toward the basin.
A Yunyang map poster keeps all of this in black and white: the tight core, the roads leading out to nearby villages, and the farmland that fills the rest of the frame. Without colour, it is easy to see how small towns in central China are built, with a market centre and many surrounding settlements joined by a network of ordinary roads.

Basin farmland
Around the town, fields, tracks and village clusters make a fine, even texture. At poster scale it looks almost like fabric, and it shows how much of the landscape is farmed.
Toward the Funiu hills
North of Yunyang the ground starts to rise toward the Funiu range. Roads and streams follow the terrain there instead of the straight lines of the plain.

ඇයි Yunyang
අර්ථයක් ඇති සිතියමක්
People hang a map of Yunyang because it is where they grew up, where their family comes from, or where they spent a formative period of their lives. Few people outside the region know the town. A plain drawing of its streets and fields can mean a great deal to those who do.
You can personalise the title, the subtitle and the coordinates line, for example with a family name or an important date. There are five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. The digital files cost $9 and cover six print sizes with no watermark. Printed posters are also available, with an optional wooden frame.
