River valley setting
The Zamora River sets the direction of the town. Blocks line up along its course, and the roads leaving Zamora keep to the valley rather than climbing the steep slopes.

Zamora Map Poster & Print
Zamora sits low in the valley of the Zamora River, on the eastern side of the Andes where the mountains begin to fall toward the Amazon basin. From above, the town is a compact cluster of blocks squeezed between water and slope, with ridges climbing on almost every side. The river curves past the centre and the roads follow it, because there is little flat ground to spare.
As the capital of Zamora Chinchipe province, the town is the administrative centre for a large, thinly populated region of forest, rivers and small farms. It is also a common starting point for Podocarpus National Park, whose protected cloud forest and páramo rise to the west. On a map, that protected land shows up as a wide absence of streets beyond the edge of town.
A Zamora map poster keeps the essentials of that setting: the tight grid of the centre, the bending river, the bridges that link one bank to the other and the roads that thread out along the valley floor. It is a quiet, contained composition. The contrast between the dense town and the empty hills around it gives the print its character.

Bridges across the water
Several crossings stitch the two banks together. In black and white they read as short, deliberate strokes across the river line, a small detail that anchors the whole layout.
Edge of the forest
Beyond the last streets, the map opens into wide blank space. This is the forested terrain of the eastern Andes, stretching toward the protected land of Podocarpus National Park.

People who have lived in Zamora, worked in the province or passed through on the way to Podocarpus often want something that recalls the place without being a photograph. A clean street map does that, showing the river and the town at a glance.
