Aberdeen Map Poster & Print
Aberdeen sits at the eastern end of Grays Harbor on the Pacific coast of Washington, where the Chehalis River widens into the bay and the smaller Wishkah River flows down from the north. From above, the town is a regular grid broken into pieces by water, with bridges stitching the neighbourhoods together and wooded hills rising behind the flats.
For much of its history Aberdeen was a timber and sawmill town, and the long waterfront still reflects that working past. Culturally, it is known as the place where Kurt Cobain grew up, and the town has marked the connection with a riverside memorial park and a welcome sign that quotes one of his songs.
An Aberdeen map poster emphasises the water that defines the place: the broad harbour to the west, the river channels threading through town and the neighbouring city of Hoquiam just along the shore. Printed in black and white, the rivers become strong curves cutting through an otherwise orderly street pattern.

Grays Harbor
West of the centre, the wide tidal bay opens toward the Pacific, filling a large part of the map with calm water and a long, irregular shoreline.
Hillside neighbourhoods
North of the flats, streets climb into forested hills, the grid giving way to curving roads that follow the slopes above the river valley.

Zakaj Aberdeen
Zemljevid, ki nekaj pomeni
Aberdeen means different things to different people: a rainy harbour town, a lumber port, the backdrop to a generation's music. For residents and visitors alike, a map is a quieter, more lasting way to keep the place close than a photograph.
The poster can be personalised with your own title, a subtitle and a date or coordinates line. Choose from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand; Noir gives the rivers and harbour a particularly moody, nocturnal feel.
