Converging roads
Several routes meet at the heart of Akatsi. Where they cross, the map is densest, and that is where the town's market and administrative life is centred.

Akatsi Map Poster & Print
Akatsi lies in the south of Ghana's Volta Region, on the open coastal plain between the Volta River and the border with Togo. From above, the town spreads outward from a few main roads. It has no natural barrier to push against, so the streets run in loose, practical lines. Compounds and plots fill the space between them before the pattern thins out into farmland and scrub.
The town is an administrative centre for its district and a market town in Ewe-speaking country. On a map that role shows up as roads arriving from several directions and meeting near the centre. The street network is at its busiest there, and residential lanes branch off at looser angles as the town extends outward over the flat land.
An Akatsi map poster works well because the setting is so level. With no hills or coastline in the frame, the picture comes down to roads, junctions and the steady spread of lanes. That suits the black-and-white format, where it reads as a clean record of how a Volta town grows along its routes.

Flat savanna setting
The coastal plain here is nearly level. The streets spread evenly in each direction, which gives the poster a balanced, open composition.
Loose residential lanes
Away from the main roads, the lanes branch at irregular angles between compounds. On the page they form a fine, informal mesh that contrasts with the straighter trunk routes.
