Garden-lined streets
Long residential streets with deep household plots create a grid of slightly stretched blocks. This is typical of settlements across the Kuban region.

Akhtyrskiy Map Poster & Print
Akhtyrskiy is an urban-type settlement in the Abinsky District of Krasnodar Krai, in the transition zone between the Kuban lowland and the first ridges of the north-western Caucasus. On a map this shows up clearly. To the north the land is open and farmed, while to the south streams cut into rising, forested ground.
The settlement is known for its connection to oil. Extraction in this part of the Kuban foothills goes back to the nineteenth century, and small-scale infrastructure has been part of the local landscape for generations. The street layout reflects a practical, working settlement: fairly regular blocks and long residential streets lined with houses and gardens.
An Akhtyrskiy map poster captures that meeting of landscapes. Straight streets fill the lower ground, while stream valleys and winding tracks to the south hint at the hills. The contrast between ordered blocks and irregular terrain gives the drawing a clear direction, from plain to mountain.

Foothill streams
Small rivers come down from the Caucasus ridges and cross the area. Their meandering lines break up the regular street pattern.
Plain meets hills
On a wider view the settlement sits exactly where flat farmland gives way to wooded slopes, a boundary that reads clearly even in black and white.
