Al Ghanāyim Map Poster & Print
Al Ghanāyim is a town in Asyut Governorate in Upper Egypt, set in the cultivated Nile valley south of the city of Asyut. The landscape here is a narrow ribbon of farmland bordered by desert plateaus. On the map the town appears as a dense cluster of streets surrounded by fields divided into long, narrow plots.
The town is an administrative centre for its surrounding district, and its plan shows the typical layering of the valley. There is a closely built centre, a road linking it to neighbouring towns along the river, and a ring of farmland ruled by canals and drains. Where the fields stop, the plateau begins abruptly, and the map records this as a sudden shift from pattern to emptiness.
An Al Ghanāyim map poster presents this landscape without embellishment: the knot of the town, the lines of irrigation around it and the calm surface of the desert edge. It carries particular meaning for families from Asyut living elsewhere in Egypt or abroad, and for anyone interested in how the Nile valley has shaped settlement for millennia.

Ruled farmland
Canals, drains and tracks divide the fields around the town into long, narrow parcels. On the map they surround the settlement with a pattern of fine parallel lines.
Plateau boundary
Where irrigation ends, the desert plateau begins. This creates an abrupt edge across the map where the lines of farmland stop and open ground takes over.
