Railway grid
The downtown blocks line up with the railway, a common pattern in Texas towns that grew around the tracks. It forms a tight, regular core at the middle of the map.

Alvin Map Poster & Print
Alvin lies in Brazoria County, on the flat coastal plain between Houston and the Gulf of Mexico. Its older centre follows a simple grid aligned with the railway that helped found the town, and newer neighbourhoods spread outward in looser patterns. State highways cross the map and link Alvin north to Houston and south toward the coast.
Mustang Bayou winds through town in a meandering line that ignores the grid, a reminder of how low and wet this landscape is. Alvin is widely known as the place where the baseball pitcher Nolan Ryan grew up, and the town still marks that connection.
An Alvin map poster brings out the contrast between the ordered railway town and the natural drainage lines of the coastal prairie. In black and white, the bayou's curves stand out against the straight blocks of the historic centre.

Mustang Bayou
The bayou winds across Alvin in loose curves and cuts through the street pattern. Its course shows the flat, slow-draining ground of the Gulf coastal plain.
Highway spokes
State highways leave town in several directions toward Houston, the coast and neighbouring communities. They frame the grid and give the composition its outward reach.
