Mountain-ringed basin
The town occupies a flat valley floor enclosed by high, forested ground, so the street pattern sits inside a natural amphitheatre that gives the whole composition a clear edge.

Andapa Map Poster & Print
Andapa sits in a broad upland basin in the Sava region of northeastern Madagascar. From above, the town is a small, dense knot of streets surrounded by paddies, streams and irrigation channels, with steep ridges closing in around the valley floor. The contrast between flat cultivated ground and the folded terrain beyond it gives the map a clear, natural frame that few towns of its size have.
The basin is known as one of the island's productive rice-growing areas, and the Sava region as a whole is closely tied to vanilla cultivation. Andapa is also a usual starting point for visitors heading to Marojejy National Park, whose rainforest-covered massif rises nearby. On a map these facts show up quietly: fields, watercourses and a road that climbs out of the basin toward the coast.
An Andapa map poster reduces this setting to line and space. The tight cluster of the town, the soft irregular edges of farmland and the few roads that leave the valley all read clearly in black and white. The result looks almost like a contour study, a calm portrait of a place defined as much by its surroundings as by its streets.

Paddies and channels
Around the built-up core, rice fields and small waterways create a loose mesh of lines, a texture that contrasts nicely with the denser grid of the town itself.
Road out of the valley
A single main route leaves the basin and winds through the hills toward the coast, a long curving line that anchors the town to the rest of the Sava region.
