Bad Schwartau Map Poster & Print
Bad Schwartau lies directly north of Lübeck in Schleswig-Holstein, close enough that the two street networks almost merge. From above, the town follows the small Schwartau river, with residential streets on gently rising ground, patches of woodland and the main roads leading towards Lübeck and the Baltic coast. The river and the green spaces around it break up the grid.
The town's name comes from the river, and the title Bad reflects its history as a spa using iodine-rich brine. Many people also know the name from the Schwartauer Werke, the jam and confectionery producer founded here in the late nineteenth century, whose products are sold across Germany.
A Bad Schwartau map poster shows a small town that keeps its own identity next to a much larger neighbour. The winding river, the spa park and the curving residential streets give it a softer look than Lübeck's old town grid. In print, the map balances built-up streets and open green space quite evenly.

Spa town park
Parkland linked to the town's history as an iodine brine spa forms an open area in the map, a calm contrast to surrounding residential streets.
Edge of Lübeck
To the south the streets run straight into Lübeck, so the map shows exactly where the two towns meet and share their road network.
