Waterfront canals
On the southern side, canals separate narrow residential peninsulas. Seen from above they form a striking pattern of parallel land and water.

Baldwin Map Poster & Print
Baldwin is a hamlet in the Town of Hempstead, Nassau County, on the South Shore of Long Island. It is a mostly residential suburb with a Long Island Rail Road station. Its main east-west roads connect it with neighbouring communities, and its southern edge touches the marshes and waters of the bays behind the barrier beaches.
On the map, Baldwin has two distinct characters. The northern and central parts are a dense, fairly regular grid of suburban streets crossed by major roads and the railway. Toward the south, the grid gives way to dead-end streets that run out into water. Canals are cut between rows of houses, each lined with docks, and they lead toward the open bay.
A Baldwin map poster works because of this transition. The grid dissolves into long parallel fingers of land and water at the shore. In black and white the canals create a striking comb-like pattern that is typical of the South Shore, and the rest of the grid provides a steady background.

Railway and main roads
The LIRR line and major east-west roads cross the hamlet in long straight lines that anchor the suburban grid.
Bay and marshes
Beyond the last streets, tidal channels and marsh islands spread toward the barrier beaches. They add intricate detail at the bottom of the frame.

Zakaj Baldwin
Zemljevid, ki nekaj pomeni
Baldwin posters appeal to families who have lived on the South Shore for generations and to those who grew up near the canals. The design shows the part of Long Island where the suburb meets the sea.
Add a custom title and subtitle, such as a street or a year, and adjust the coordinates line. Choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Blueprint makes the canals especially sharp.
