Compact town core
Narrow streets and closely packed buildings form a small, dense centre, the busiest part of the map and a striking contrast to the open plain around it.

Barhiya Map Poster & Print
Barhiya lies in Lakhisarai district in Bihar, on the flat Gangetic plain south of the river. The town is compact, with narrow streets and closely set houses forming a dense core, and on a map it appears as a small, intricate knot surrounded by wide open land. Roads lead out in several directions toward neighbouring villages and market towns.
The railway line running between Patna and Kiul passes through Barhiya, and its straight course gives the map a firm, ruled edge against the irregular town streets. Around the town the landscape belongs to the Tal, a low-lying area of the Ganges plain that floods during the monsoon and is farmed for pulses once the water recedes.
That seasonal rhythm of water and harvest shapes daily life far more than any single landmark. A Barhiya map poster presents the town as it sits within this broad agricultural setting, the dense streets, the railway and the open fields of the Tal rendered in fine black lines, a portrait of a place tied closely to the land around it.

Main line railway
The railway between Patna and Kiul runs straight through town, a long, clean line that gives the composition a strong and steady axis.
The Tal lands
Low fields that flood in the monsoon stretch around Barhiya, rendered as a sparse, open pattern of tracks and field edges beyond the built-up area.
