Valley floor streets
The densest streets gather where the valley is flattest. Together they form a compact centre that stands out against the open, lightly marked hillsides around it.

Battagram Map Poster & Print
Battagram is a district town in the Hazara region of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, surrounded by steep, forested hills not far from the Indus. From above, it is not a grid at all. Streets and lanes gather along the valley floor and climb in tight curves wherever the terrain allows, and scattered settlements thin out across the terraced slopes around the town.
The town is the administrative centre of Battagram District, and the Karakoram Highway passes through the district on its long route between the plains and the northern mountains. That connection shapes the map. One main road threads the valley, and smaller routes branch off toward villages higher up.
Because the built area is modest, a Battagram map poster works best at close range, where individual lanes, streams and field boundaries become visible. The result is less a city plan than a portrait of a mountain settlement: a delicate network of lines shaped by water and slope, surrounded by the quiet white space of the hills.

Karakoram Highway link
The Karakoram Highway crosses Battagram District, and the main road through the area is the strongest single line on the map. It is the thread that connects the town to the wider region.
Slopes and streams
Small watercourses and winding hill roads give the edges of the map a loose, branching texture. It looks very different from the straight-lined grids of lowland cities.

Zakaj Battagram
Zemljevid, ki nekaj pomeni
Many families from Battagram live and work far from the valley, in Pakistan's larger cities or abroad. A map of the town is a simple, respectful way to keep the shape of home in view, without relying on photographs or captions.
You can edit the title, subtitle and coordinates line to add a village name, a family name or a date. Choose one of five styles, from Classic black & white to Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand, as a download or a print.
