Main road spine
The principal road through town acts as the backbone of the map. Most streets hang off it, so the composition has a clear line running through the middle of the sheet.

Bitam Map Poster & Print
Bitam lies in Woleu-Ntem province in the far north of Gabon, only a short distance from the borders with Cameroon and Equatorial Guinea. The surrounding country is equatorial forest, and on a map that absence of detail becomes part of the picture: the town appears as a concentrated patch of streets set within a wide, quiet field.
Its layout follows the main road that links the north of the country with the rest of Gabon. Neighbourhoods branch from that spine in short, curving side streets that respond to the gentle rise and fall of the land rather than to a grid. The result is organic and slightly asymmetric, easy to read at poster size.
A Bitam map poster suits people with ties to the Woleu-Ntem region, whether they live there now or in Libreville, Yaoundé or further abroad. Because the town is compact, a single frame can hold the whole centre along with the roads heading out towards the borders, so the map shows both the place itself and its position in the region.

Curving side streets
Residential streets wind to follow the terrain instead of forming blocks. In black and white they read as loose, hand-drawn curves against the empty space around them.
Near three countries
Bitam sits close to where Gabon, Cameroon and Equatorial Guinea meet, and the roads leading north and west hint at that crossroads position on a wider framing.

Zakaj Bitam
Zemljevid, ki nekaj pomeni
For a place that is rarely printed at this level of detail, the poster works as a keepsake of home or of a posting in the north of Gabon. The simple lines sit comfortably in a living room or office without explaining themselves.
Add your own title, a subtitle in any language and a date that matters to you, and keep or edit the coordinates. Five styles are available, from Classic black and white to Sand. A free 900 px preview lets you check the framing before buying the $9 HD files.
