Boroon lies in Northern Mindanao in the Philippines, on the coast around Iligan Bay. As in many settlements on this coast, the map shows a long, narrow shape. Houses and streets follow the national highway and the shoreline, and hills rise quickly inland.
The coastline is the main feature. It is a smooth curve of shore with small river mouths where streams come down from the uplands. Most roads run parallel to the sea, and only a few lead inland toward farms and hillside villages.
