Broadstairs Map Poster & Print
Broadstairs sits on the Isle of Thanet in east Kent, between Margate and Ramsgate. Its coastline is its defining feature from above: a series of small bays cut into chalk cliffs, with Viking Bay at the heart of the town and others strung along the shore to the north and south. The streets follow the cliff tops and descend toward the sand.
The old town is compact, with narrow streets and steps running down to the harbour and the curve of Viking Bay, while later streets spread inland in longer, more regular rows. Charles Dickens spent many summers here, and the cliff-top house associated with him, later renamed Bleak House, still overlooks the bay.
The town holds an annual Dickens Festival and a well-known folk week each summer. A Broadstairs map poster shows how closely a seaside town can be tied to its shoreline, with the scalloped edge of bays and headlands giving the composition its rhythm and the sea filling one side of the frame with calm open space.

Chain of bays
Smaller bays along the coast create a scalloped shoreline of headlands and inlets, one of the most distinctive coastal outlines in Kent.
Cliff-top streets
Roads run along the tops of the chalk cliffs and turn inland in long rows, showing how the town grew outward from its seafront.

Zakaj Broadstairs
Zemljevid, ki nekaj pomeni
Broadstairs is the kind of place people return to for decades: childhood summers, a honeymoon, a move to the coast. A map poster can mark any of those, with the title, subtitle and coordinates personalised to name a bay, a year or the people involved.
Noir sets the coastline sharply against a dark sea, Blueprint suits the precise curves of the bays, and Classic black & white, Paper and Sand offer lighter options. Download the $9 HD files in six sizes, or order a printed matte poster with an optional wooden frame.
