Brunssum Map Poster & Print
Brunssum lies in the south-east of Dutch Limburg, close to the German border. The map shows a town of curving residential streets and planned neighbourhoods, many built for miners and their families in the early 20th century. On its eastern side the dense pattern gives way to the Brunssummerheide, a large area of heath, sand and woodland.
Coal defined the town for decades. The Hendrik state mine operated here until the 1960s, and the colliery settlements still shape much of the layout. Today Brunssum is known internationally as the seat of NATO's Allied Joint Force Command Brunssum.
A Brunssum map poster shows both chapters, the orderly mining-era districts and the open green of the heath that was spared development. The contrast between the built texture and the natural edge makes a clear composition.

Brunssummerheide
A large heath and woodland area east of town appears as open space on the map, a quiet counterweight to the residential streets.
Border setting
The German border lies just beyond the town's edge, and roads cross it with little fanfare, typical of this closely connected corner of Europe.
