Alme and Afte
Two small rivers meet at Büren, and their green valleys curve around the old town. On the map they soften the composition and explain why the centre sits on higher ground.

Büren Map Poster & Print
Büren lies in the Paderborn district of North Rhine-Westphalia, on the edge of the Sauerland uplands, where the Alme and Afte rivers meet. The historic centre is compact and sits on higher ground above the valley. From above, its lanes gather around the church and market area before giving way to newer districts and the villages that make up the wider town.
The skyline is marked by the Baroque Jesuit church of Maria Immaculata. Within the municipality stands Wewelsburg, a triangular hilltop castle above the Alme valley, which today houses a museum and a memorial documenting its use by the SS. Paderborn Lippstadt Airport also lies within Büren's boundaries, its runway a clean straight stroke across the plateau.
A Büren map poster frames a place made of several distinct shapes: the curved river valleys, the tight old core, the triangle of Wewelsburg and the geometric lines of the airfield. In black and white those elements balance well, creating a print that suits locals, former residents returning home and anyone interested in the region's layered history.

Wewelsburg triangle
Wewelsburg's unusual triangular plan is clearly visible from above, perched on a spur over the Alme valley. It is one of the most recognisable shapes anywhere in the municipality.
Airport runway
Paderborn Lippstadt Airport lies on the plateau within Büren's territory. Its long runway and taxiways add a crisp, modern geometry to an otherwise rural landscape.
