Burauen Map Poster & Print
Burauen is a municipality in the province of Leyte in the Eastern Visayas region of the Philippines. Unlike many Leyte towns, it lies inland rather than on the coast, on the plain between the eastern shore and the mountains of the island's interior. From above, the town centre forms a compact grid, surrounded by rice fields, coconut groves and scattered barangays.
Burauen has a place in Second World War history. During the Battle of Leyte in 1944, airstrips in the Burauen area were a focus of fighting, including a Japanese airborne attack on American-held airfields. The volcanic uplands to the west include a protected natural park with lakes and hot springs.
A Burauen map poster shows a town that remains closely tied to its land. The small grid sits at the centre, with roads leading out across the plain and field boundaries forming a soft texture around it. It is a calm, clear image of a provincial Philippine town, suited to families who carry its memories with them.
