Busembatia is a town in the Eastern Region of Uganda, in the Busoga area between Jinja and the Kenyan border. The land here is gently rolling and well farmed, and small towns tend to grow along the main roads. On the map, Busembatia shows this clearly: a core of streets along its central route with lanes leading off into the countryside.
The centre is where the trading plots, markets and public buildings gather, and the density falls off quickly beyond.
