Buston Map Poster & Print
Buston lies in the Sughd region of northern Tajikistan, close to Khujand and the Syr Darya valley. The town was built in the Soviet period and was known for decades as Chkalovsk, before being renamed in 2016. Its map still shows that planned origin in a clear, regular layout.
Wide avenues and evenly spaced blocks form the centre, with apartment districts and green spaces arranged in the orderly pattern typical of Soviet planned towns. Around this core, the grid meets the irrigated fields and older settlements of the valley.
The dry hills to the north and the fertile river plain to the south give the town a clear setting. A Buston map poster shows a place where mid-century planning meets the ancient farming landscape of the Fergana valley's western edge.
