Crossroads layout
The town sits where regional roads come together, and the main routes cross the map as long, confident lines that lead away from the small centre.

Cahama Map Poster & Print
Cahama is a municipal seat in Cunene Province, in the far south of Angola, where the land flattens into dry savanna toward the Namibian border. Most of Cahama's population lives across a wide rural municipality, not inside the town itself, so on a map the town is small: a modest cluster of streets where roads meet on open ground.
In a monochrome print the white space is as important as the lines. A handful of streets form the centre, and longer roads head out across the plain toward other towns in the province. Seasonal watercourses, dry for much of the year, add faint, irregular strokes to the landscape. Everything else is broad and empty.
A Cahama map poster is an understated piece that reflects how sparse this region is. Cunene is known for cattle herding and a semi-arid climate, and settlements are spread far apart. The poster records one of those settlements in exact linework, for people who come from here, have worked here, or keep a personal connection to southern Angola.

Open savanna
The land around Cahama is flat, dry and lightly built. The poster keeps large areas of calm, empty paper around the settlement.
Seasonal channels
Riverbeds that only fill in the rainy season cut across the plain, adding soft, irregular lines that contrast with the straight roads.

Zakaj Cahama
Zemljevid, ki nekaj pomeni
People hang this map to hold on to a place that is far away: a birthplace, a posting, or a region they know well. Its minimal look matches the landscape, with a small town and a lot of space around it.
Change the title, subtitle and coordinates to write your own version, for example in Portuguese or with a meaningful year. Choose one of five styles (Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand). Download 300 DPI files for $9, or order a matte print from partners in over 30 countries.
