Jialing River
The wide river dominates the map, curving through the district in long loops and giving the poster its strongest line, a pale ribbon set against the surrounding streets.

Caojie Map Poster & Print
Caojie is a town in Hechuan District, in the northern part of Chongqing Municipality, set in the hilly country where the Jialing River runs south toward its meeting with the Yangtze. On a map, the built area follows the lie of the land rather than a grid, with streets bending along slopes and gathering close to the river.
The Jialing is the defining feature here. Its broad channel loops through the landscape, and the town gives its name to a large navigation and hydropower project on the river. Around the settlement, the terrain breaks into small valleys and ridges, with roads tracing the contours between farmland and villages.
A Caojie map poster renders all of this in clean black lines: the curve of the river, the irregular streets of the town and the fine threads of roads climbing through the hills. It is a composition built on movement and terrain, quite unlike the rigid blocks of a planned city, and it rewards a closer look.

River engineering
The Caojie navigation and hydropower project regulates the Jialing here, and its dam appears on the map as a straight line drawn across the water.
Hill-shaped streets
Instead of a grid, the town's streets bend to fit slopes and valley floors, producing the organic pattern typical of the hill country around Chongqing.
