The long beach
A wide, gently curving sand beach runs along the Atlantic edge. On the poster the coastline forms a smooth sweep against the empty water, the strongest shape in the composition.

Carcavelos Map Poster & Print
Carcavelos sits on the Lisbon coast in the municipality of Cascais, where the Tagus estuary opens into the Atlantic. On a map the shoreline takes the top billing: one of the longest sandy beaches on this stretch of coast, a clean curve between rocky points, with the ocean filling the whole lower edge of the frame.
Behind the beach, the Cascais railway line and the seafront road run parallel to the water, and the town rises inland in a loose weave of residential streets, gardens and small squares. Further back, the A5 motorway draws a firm line across the top. The seafront university campus is a clear geometric block close to the sand.
The name also belongs to a historic fortified wine from the vineyards of this area, one of Portugal's lesser-known appellations. A Carcavelos map poster brings together the surf beach, the commuter line into Lisbon and the quieter grid behind it, a stretch of coast many people know from summers, study years or the daily train.

Cascais railway line
The coastal line from Lisbon to Cascais runs close to the shore, and its straight track separates the beachfront from the town. For many residents it is the daily link to the capital.
Seafront campus
A modern university campus sits right by the water, its buildings drawn as clean blocks between the railway and the beach. A familiar landmark for students who spent their years here.

Zakaj Carcavelos
Zemljevid, ki nekaj pomeni
Carcavelos works well for anyone who surfed, studied or lived here for a few years. The coastline gives the print a calm, open balance: half town, half ocean, with the rail line as a thin horizon between them.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates, perhaps with a graduation year or a first address, and choose from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Download the HD files for $9 or order a matte print, with an optional wooden frame.
