Compact centre
The town's main streets form a small, fairly regular grid. This is the densest part of the map and the point from which roads and newer blocks extend.

Cariús Map Poster
Cariús is a municipality in the south-central interior of Ceará, in Brazil's semi-arid sertão, not far from Iguatu. It shares its name with the Cariús river, part of the wider Jaguaribe basin that drains much of the state. From above, the town is small and orderly, with a few main streets and blocks gathered into a compact centre in the middle of broad, open country.
The surrounding landscape is caatinga scrub, pasture and seasonal farmland. It turns green for a few months after the rains and stays pale for the rest of the year. Riverbeds that flow only part of the year cross the land in winding lines, and small reservoirs appear as irregular shapes. On a print, these natural lines give the empty space around the town a quiet structure.
A Cariús map poster suits people with roots in this part of Ceará, whether they still live nearby or moved to Fortaleza or farther south. The layout is simple, and that is what makes it work: a small grid, a few roads out and the long curves of the watercourses, drawn in clean black and white.

Seasonal rivers
Watercourses of the Jaguaribe basin cross the region in winding lines. They are often dry for months but remain the landscape's main natural features on the map.
Sertão surroundings
Open scrubland, pasture and farm plots fill the space around the town. They leave generous white areas that give the poster a calm, spacious feel.
