Castro Valley Map Poster & Print
Castro Valley lies in Alameda County, in the East Bay hills behind Hayward and San Leandro. It is one of the largest unincorporated communities in California. Its centre fills the floor of a valley, and the neighbourhoods climb the slopes around it, where streets turn into curves and cul-de-sacs as the terrain gets steeper.
Interstate 580 runs through the community on its way between the Bay and the Tri-Valley, and its route and interchanges form a clear diagonal on the map. The older commercial centre along Castro Valley Boulevard sits near the freeway, with residential streets spreading out in every direction.
A Castro Valley map poster places the valley within the surrounding hills, with Lake Chabot lying in a wooded canyon to the northwest, its long, branching shoreline standing out against the parkland. In print, the lake, the hills and the settled valley floor give the composition clear contrast.

Interstate 580
The freeway runs through the valley, a long, strong line with interchanges that link Castro Valley to the Bay Area and the inland valleys.
Hillside streets
Around the valley floor, residential streets climb into the hills in winding loops and dead ends, following the contours of the terrain.
