Chacarita is a district of Puntarenas canton on Costa Rica's Pacific side, close to where the Puntarenas peninsula leaves the mainland. The map shows low, flat land by the Gulf of Nicoya, with residential streets packed between the main road and the water, and channels and mangrove edges shaping the shoreline.
This part of Puntarenas grew as the port city expanded inland from its narrow sandbar. Housing developments fill the ground near the coast, with short streets arranged in small grids, while larger roads carry traffic toward the city and the rest of the country. Water appears on more than one side, giving the district an irregular outline.
A Chacarita map poster captures that meeting of dense neighbourhood streets and soft estuary coastline. The gulf fills part of the frame, and the thin lines of the mangrove channels contrast with the tighter pattern of the housing.
