Champaign Map Poster & Print
Champaign sits on the flat prairie of east-central Illinois, and its map is a study in straight lines. Streets run in a near-perfect grid across level ground, broken only by railway corridors and the winding Boneyard Creek. To the east, Champaign meets its twin city, Urbana, so smoothly that the boundary between them runs along a street through the university campus.
The University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign fills much of the eastern part of the map. Its Main Quad is a long rectangular green framed by academic buildings. Around it lie student housing, research buildings, sports fields and the busy blocks around Green Street. Downtown Champaign, a short distance west, grew up around the railroad station and keeps a compact commercial core.
Beyond the edge of town the grid continues into fields of corn and soybeans, a pattern that stretches for miles in every direction. A Champaign map poster captures this orderly landscape: the tight blocks of campus and downtown, the long straight roads into farmland, and the few curves of creek and rail that interrupt them.

Prairie grid
Straight streets meet at right angles across the city and give the poster a crisp, measured rhythm. The same grid carries on into the country roads beyond town.
Downtown railway
The railway through downtown, historically part of the Illinois Central, runs as a strong line through the grid. It marks the place where the city first grew around its station.

Zakaj Champaign
Zemljevid, ki nekaj pomeni
Many people know Champaign through four years of study, a first job or a research post, and memories of the quad and the campus streets tend to stay. A map of the city makes a fitting graduation gift or a reminder of those years.
Personalise the title, add a subtitle such as a class year or degree, and keep the coordinates line. Choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. The clean grid looks especially sharp in Blueprint and Noir.
