Winding lanes
The older part of town is made up of narrow, curving lanes with few straight lines, producing a dense and organic pattern at the centre of the print.

Zemljevid
Chandrakona Map Poster & Print
Chandrakona lies in Paschim Medinipur district of West Bengal, in the transitional country where the flat Gangetic plain meets the drier, red-soil uplands to the west. The town's map is irregular and intimate. Narrow lanes curve between clusters of houses, and the main road cuts a steadier line through the middle. Small ponds and water tanks dot the layout, as in many Bengal settlements.
Chandrakona has a long past as a local centre and is associated with several old temples that reflect the region's building traditions. On a map these show up only as part of the fabric, but they explain why the centre feels older and denser than the newer strips of building along the roads leading out.
A Chandrakona map poster is a thoughtful gift for someone from the town now living in Kolkata or abroad. The black-and-white treatment brings out the network of lanes and the scattered pools of water. It turns a familiar place into something to look at slowly, the way one looks at a print or a drawing.

Ponds and tanks
Small bodies of water are scattered through and around the settlement, appearing on the map as soft, irregular shapes among the streets.
Edge of the plain
The town sits where the Bengal plain begins to give way to the western uplands, and farmland with patches of woodland fills the surroundings.
