Chebba stands on the Mediterranean coast of the Mahdia Governorate, on a stretch where the shoreline pushes out into the sea. From above, water surrounds much of the town, and the coastline is the strongest line on the map: irregular, broken by small inlets and the harbour, and set against the flat, even tone of the sea.
The town is known above all as a fishing port, and the harbour gives the map a distinctive detail, with breakwaters and quays forming angular shapes at the water's edge. Inland, the streets are tightly packed near the older core and loosen into a more open pattern as the town spreads toward the olive-growing country behind it.
