River country
The Periyar and its surrounding waterways give the region its shape, and on the map they appear as soft curves that the local road network bends to follow.

Chelamartam Map Poster & Print
Chelamartam lies in the Ernakulam district of Kerala, inland from the coast in the gently rolling country around the Periyar, the state's longest river. It is not a town of blocks and avenues. Seen from above, it reads as a spread of houses and lanes set among coconut palms, gardens and cultivated plots, with settlement thinning and thickening rather than stopping at a clear edge.
The map reflects this typical Kerala pattern. Roads follow the land rather than a plan, bending around water, fields and property lines, and small side lanes branch off in every direction. Water is never far away in this part of the state, and channels and the river itself shape how the network settles. A Chelamartam map poster turns that organic pattern into a fine, even texture.
Like much of the Periyar valley, the area has long been tied to temple life and river rituals, and the riverbanks here are part of that tradition. Nearby towns along the Periyar connect Chelamartam to the wider Kochi region, making it part of a dense, semi-rural belt where village and town blend into one another.

Branching lanes
Instead of a grid, narrow roads fork and rejoin across the area, producing a fine, irregular mesh that looks almost hand-drawn in black and white.
Green gaps
Gardens, palms and fields leave open space between clusters of houses, so the poster alternates between dense patches of streets and calm empty areas.
