Chicago Heights Map Poster & Print
Chicago Heights lies in the southern suburbs of Chicago, in Cook County, Illinois. It calls itself the Crossroads of the Nation because two of America's first long-distance roads, the east–west Lincoln Highway and the north–south Dixie Highway, meet here. On a map that intersection is the heart of the town, with a regular grid of streets extending in every direction.
The town grew as an industrial centre in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, and railway lines and former industrial land still cross the map in long diagonal and straight corridors. Residential neighbourhoods fill the blocks between them. Forest preserves and open land along creeks soften the edges.
A Chicago Heights map poster shows a Midwestern town shaped by transport: highways crossing at the centre, rail lines slicing through the grid and neighbourhoods filling the spaces in between. Its structure is clear, graphic and easy to read.
