Valley floor streets
Most streets run lengthwise along the flat valley bottom. They form a stretched, tightly packed pattern that makes the long, narrow shape of the valley plain on the map.

Chiềng Cơi Map Poster & Print
Chiềng Cơi is part of Sơn La city in the mountains of north-western Vietnam. The whole city fills a long valley, hemmed in by steep hills. That shows clearly on a map: streets run along the valley floor in close, parallel lines and then stop abruptly where the slopes begin. Beyond that edge, only a few winding roads climb into the surrounding high ground.
Sơn La is the capital of its province and a stop on the roads that link the north-western uplands with Hanoi. Around the city, the land breaks into ridges, terraces and small side valleys. Each side valley carries its own thin line of houses and lanes, and on the map these appear as narrow fingers of settlement.
A Chiềng Cơi map poster frames this ward against the valley it belongs to. The dense streets of the valley floor contrast with the empty hillsides, so the terrain shows up even though the map contains nothing but roads. It is a fitting image for a place that the mountains have shaped from every side.

Hillside edges
The built-up area stops sharply where the hills rise, leaving a crisp outline between dense streets and blank slopes that works almost like a relief drawing.
Mountain roads out
A few roads leave the valley in long bends as they climb toward the surrounding uplands. They add sweeping curves at the edges of the frame.
