The commons
Chislehurst's open commons break up the street pattern with irregular green spaces. On the map they appear as pale islands with roads bending around them, much as they do in the actual town.

Chislehurst Map Poster & Print
Chislehurst lies in the London Borough of Bromley, on the southeastern edge of the capital, and it has held on to much of its village character. From above it looks unlike inner London. Instead of a tight terraced grid, roads curve around open commons and patches of woodland, and houses sit in generous plots. The railway cuts through in a long line, and the green spaces interrupt the streets again and again.
Its history shows in that layout. Napoleon III spent his final years in exile at Camden Place in Chislehurst and died there in 1873. Beneath the town run the Chislehurst Caves, a network of man-made tunnels that served as a large air-raid shelter during the Second World War. Nearby Scadbury Park adds a broad area of woodland and fields to the east.
A Chislehurst map poster suits people who value this mix of suburb and countryside: families who have lived here for generations, commuters who walk across the common each morning, or anyone who left and misses it. In monochrome the commons and woods become calm open shapes, set against the looser pattern of lanes and cul-de-sacs, and they give the print a light, airy balance.

Railway line
The railway runs through the area in one long, straight line. It is one of the few rigid lines in a map otherwise made of curving roads, and it gives the composition a firm axis.
Scadbury Park
To the east, Scadbury Park opens a wide area of woodland and fields. It gives the map an edge where the suburb gives way to open country.

Zakaj Chislehurst
Zemljevid, ki nekaj pomeni
Chislehurst is the sort of place people are attached to street by street, and a map of it holds that attachment well. It suits a first home, a family house or a move away, and it shows the commons and lanes as a single calm picture.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line with a house name, a street or the year you moved in. Five styles are available: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Paper and Sand bring out the softer green character of the place.
