Colón Map Poster & Print
Colón lies in the east of Matanzas Province, in the flat agricultural heart of western Cuba. Its map is a clear example of the Spanish-American grid: straight streets crossing at right angles, forming even blocks around a central square. From above, the pattern is tidy and easy to read.
Beyond the edge of town, the grid gives way to open land. For much of its history this was sugar country, and roads and rail lines run straight across the plain toward other towns and former mills. On a print, the compact block of streets sits within a wide, quiet field broken by a few long lines.
The town is named after Christopher Columbus, known in Spanish as Colón. It grew during the nineteenth century as the sugar economy expanded across the region. A Colón map poster captures the simple, balanced geometry of a Cuban provincial town.

Central square
An open plaza at the heart of the grid appears as a clear pause in the pattern, the natural focal point of the composition.
Country roads
Long, straight roads leave the town across the flat plain, connecting it to the surrounding agricultural land and neighbouring towns.

Zakaj Colón
Zemljevid, ki nekaj pomeni
Many Cuban families abroad keep a close connection to their home towns, and a map of Colón is a restrained way to honour that. Its clean grid also makes it a strong graphic piece on its own.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, and pick from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Check the framing with the free watermarked preview, then choose the $9 HD files or a printed poster.
