Colonial grid
The city is laid out in square blocks around a central plaza. This regular pattern from the Spanish colonial period fills much of the poster with an even texture.

Concepción del Uruguay Map Poster & Print
Concepción del Uruguay lies on the western bank of the Uruguay River in the province of Entre Ríos, facing the country of Uruguay across the water. Founded in 1783, it is one of the oldest cities in the province. Its map shows a classic Spanish colonial grid of square blocks set against a riverside of channels, islands and marshland.
The city played a significant role in Argentine history. It was a stronghold of Justo José de Urquiza, whose Palacio San José stands in the countryside nearby. It is also home to the Colegio del Uruguay, founded in 1849 and among the oldest secular secondary schools in the country. The historic centre, around the main plaza, sits at the heart of the grid.
A Concepción del Uruguay map poster balances order and water. The regular blocks run inland in a crisp, even pattern, while the riverfront breaks into a complex edge of streams, port areas and wooded islands. In print, this meeting of geometry and natural outline gives the map both structure and character.

Uruguay River
The broad river along the eastern edge forms a strong boundary. Its islands and side channels create an intricate outline that contrasts with the straight streets.
Port and wetlands
Along the waterfront, port basins, streams and marshy ground add irregular shapes and fine detail where the city meets the river.
