Grid of square blocks
The centre follows a classic colonial grid, with streets meeting at right angles. It gives the map a regular, woven texture that ends sharply at the riverbank.

Concepción Map Poster & Print
Concepción is the capital of the department of the same name in northern Paraguay, on the eastern bank of the Paraguay River. From above, the city is a clear grid of square blocks running up to the riverbank. The port lies along the water, and on the opposite side the flat, wet lowlands of the Chaco stretch away to the horizon.
Founded in 1773 as a colonial outpost on the river, Concepción grew as a trading port for goods from the north of the country. The city is known for its horse-drawn carts, called karumbé, which have become its symbol, and for the older houses on the streets near the river. A road bridge now crosses the Paraguay toward the Chaco.
A Concepción map poster captures a town shaped by its river. The strict geometry of the blocks meets the curving bank of the Paraguay, islands and channels break up the water, and marshland spreads across the western side. That balance between order and nature makes it a strong image in any style.

Paraguay River
The wide river runs along the western side of the city, with islands, sandbanks and side channels. On the poster it forms the strongest line and the main natural boundary.
Chaco lowlands
Across the river, the Chaco begins as low, flat ground marked by wetlands and meandering streams. It adds a large, open space to the composition.
