Ponds and reservoirs
Several lakes and reservoirs are scattered across the town. Their irregular outlines stand out strongly against the surrounding roads and woodland.

Coventry Map Poster & Print
Coventry covers a wide strip of Kent County in Rhode Island, from the more built-up east to the forested west at the Connecticut border. From above, the eastern side is a network of suburban streets and older villages. Further west the roads thin out, and woods and ponds take over.
Like much of Rhode Island, Coventry grew around water-powered mills on the Pawtuxet River's branches. Villages such as Anthony and Washington formed around them. The General Nathanael Greene Homestead in Anthony preserves the house of the Revolutionary War general, one of the most prominent figures from the state.
A Coventry map poster shows the town changing from east to west. Street grids and cul-de-sacs sit around reservoirs and ponds in the east, and long rural roads cross large wooded areas in the west. The water bodies, drawn as solid shapes, anchor the composition.

Mill villages
Older village centres grew along the river branches. They show up as small, tighter clusters of streets inside the wider suburban pattern.
Wooded west
Toward the Connecticut line, roads spread far apart and forest covers most of the land, which gives the map a lighter, open side.
