Cumbum Map Poster & Print
Cumbum lies in Prakasam district of Andhra Pradesh, in an area of farmland at the edge of the Nallamala hills. The most striking feature on the map is Cumbum Lake, a large reservoir created by damming a gap in the hills, which spreads beside the town. The streets form a compact settlement with main roads leading out toward neighbouring towns.
Cumbum Lake is one of the older large irrigation tanks in India, generally dated to the Vijayanagara period, and it has supported agriculture in the area for centuries. The Gundlakamma river flows through the region, and fields and irrigation channels surround the town on the flatter ground.
A Cumbum map poster shows a town defined by water management. The broad shape of the lake, the embankment holding it back and the pattern of fields below it create a composition where the human and natural landscape are closely linked.

Nallamala hills
The hills rise to the east of the town, closing the map on one side and giving the landscape a clear natural boundary.
Irrigated fields
Channels and field boundaries spread across the flat land around the town, fed by the lake and forming a fine, regular texture.
