Candlewood Lake shoreline
Connecticut's largest lake reaches toward the city from the north. Its irregular coves and peninsulas create one of the most striking outlines in the region.

Danbury Map Poster & Print
Danbury sits in western Connecticut near the New York line, in a valley surrounded by wooded hills. The Still River runs through the city, and Interstate 84 cuts across it from east to west. The downtown is a compact cluster of older streets. Around it, neighbourhoods follow the terrain in curving lanes. To the north, Candlewood Lake reaches down toward the city with a long, finger-like shoreline.
For much of the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, Danbury was the centre of American hat making. Its factories made it known as the Hat City. Its railway heritage survives in a museum at the old station yard. Today the city is also home to Western Connecticut State University, whose campuses add open green space to the map on both the town side and the hillside.
A Danbury map poster captures an older mill town inside a newer, road-shaped region. The interstate interchanges and wide commercial parcels contrast with the tight downtown blocks. The lake's shore contrasts with both. In monochrome, the water of Candlewood Lake becomes a bold shape that anchors the northern part of the design.

Interstate 84 corridor
The highway crosses Danbury from east to west. Its interchanges and ramps form clear geometric knots against the older street pattern.
Hat City downtown
The historic core along Main Street keeps a dense arrangement of short blocks that dates from the city's years as America's hat-making capital.
