The region's long, parallel ridges give the landscape a clear direction. Roads and fields align with the valleys, creating a subtle striped structure across the map.

Dashun Map Poster
Dashun is a small town in the Chongqing municipality of southwestern China, east of the main urban area. The countryside here belongs to the ridge-and-valley terrain of eastern Sichuan and Chongqing, where long ranges run roughly parallel to one another. On the map this gives the landscape a directional grain that roads and settlements tend to follow.
The town itself is a modest cluster of streets on lower ground, with buildings thinning out into farmland at its edges. Around it, fields, terraces and wooded slopes form a patchwork, and village houses sit scattered along tracks rather than grouped in large clusters. The pattern is dispersed and quietly detailed.
Places like Dashun rarely appear in guidebooks, but they are home to families whose members often work in central Chongqing or further afield. A Dashun map poster turns this local geography into a clear drawing, showing how a small town settles into a valley and how the surrounding roads trace the lines of the land.

Compact centre
The town's streets form a small, concentrated centre on lower ground, surrounded by fields. In black and white the dense core stands out sharply from the open land.
Scattered villages
Village houses are spread along tracks and field edges throughout the countryside, adding small points and thin lines that give the outer map its texture.
