The waterfront curve
A seafront road runs along the bay for most of the city's length. It gives the print a long, smooth edge between the built-up area and open water.

Dili Map Poster & Print
Dili is shaped by the ground it sits on. The city runs east to west in a long, thin band between the sea and a wall of hills just behind it, so on a map the streets press against the shoreline. A waterfront road traces the curve of the bay, and the neighbourhoods behind it thin out quickly as the terrain rises.
Dili is the capital of Timor-Leste, which regained its independence in 2002. To the east, a headland ends at the Cristo Rei statue that looks back across the bay. To the west, the Comoro River and the airport mark where the city gradually loosens. Atauro Island lies offshore to the north, across the strait.
A Dili map poster reads like a coastline study as much as a street plan. Along the water the lines are dense and precise, higher up the slopes they become sparse and irregular, and the open sea fills a large calm area of the frame. It is a capital that shows its geography plainly, and a single-colour print makes that very clear.

Cristo Rei headland
At the eastern end of the bay a rocky headland carries the Cristo Rei statue. On the map it forms a distinct hooked point jutting into the sea.
Hills at the back
Steep ground rises right behind the city. The streets break up into winding switchbacks and scattered lanes, a clear contrast with the flatter coastal blocks.

Zakaj Dili
Zemljevid, ki nekaj pomeni
People hang Dili for different reasons. Some were born there, some worked there with an aid organisation or embassy, and some simply like the spare outline of a small capital facing the sea. The coastline carries most of the composition, so the print suits calm, uncluttered walls.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line to mark a posting, an arrival or a homecoming. Then pick one of five styles: Classic black and white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand.
