Douako Map Poster & Print
Douako lies in the Kankan Region of Upper Guinea, an area of wide savanna, open woodland and farmland drained by the upper tributaries of the Niger River. The landscape is gently rolling, with seasonal streams and patches of trees between cultivated fields, and settlements linked by a network of roads and footpaths.
The town has a modest built-up area, with compounds and small streets gathered around its center and thinning out quickly into the countryside. The pattern is loose and practical, shaped by the paths that lead to fields, water and neighbouring villages rather than by any formal plan. Many of these routes are unpaved and change with the seasons.
A Douako map poster offers a simple, honest picture of a small place in the Guinean interior: a quiet center, the lines that link it to the surrounding country and the streams crossing the land. Printed in black and white, the design keeps the spirit of the savanna, open and uncluttered with plenty of space.

Savanna tracks
Footpaths and unpaved roads branch across the open land in every direction, connecting the town with farms, water points and neighbouring villages.
Seasonal streams
Watercourses belonging to the wider Niger basin cross the landscape, flowing strongly in the rainy season and adding gentle curves to the map.
