A12 motorway
The motorway forms a strong straight edge along the town, with interchanges and slip roads that read as bold, sweeping curves on the map.

Duiven Map Poster & Print
Duiven lies in the Liemers region of Gelderland, between Arnhem and Zevenaar. Its map is shaped by infrastructure. The A12 motorway runs along one side, the railway towards Germany along another, and the town fills the space between and beyond them. The old village centre is small, and most of Duiven consists of post-war neighbourhoods laid out in planned, carefully separated blocks.
Those neighbourhoods have the characteristic Dutch pattern: curving residential streets, short cul-de-sacs, cycle paths and green strips threaded between houses. Business parks along the motorway show up as larger, coarser blocks. Outside the town the land opens into flat fields divided by straight ditches, with the villages of Groessen and Loo nearby, and the Rhine not far to the south.
A Duiven map poster captures a very Dutch arrangement of space, where motorway, rail, housing and polder each have their own zone. In black and white the zoning becomes a graphic pattern of fine, dense streets, broad industrial blocks and ruled field lines. It is a map that rewards close inspection.

Planned neighbourhoods
Post-war districts are laid out with curving streets, cul-de-sacs and green corridors, giving the residential areas an intricate, organic texture.
Polder ditches
Around the town, fields are divided by long, straight drainage ditches, a precise ruled pattern that contrasts with the curving streets inside.
